Cancellation Policy

Payment Policy Payment is due at time of scheduling. If payment is not received, services will not be delivered. There are no guarantees regarding the outcomes of services. Payment for sessions are non-refundable. Adkins Counseling Services, LLC has the right to raise the fee at any time. Cancelation and No-Show Policy Emergency Cancellations: Emergency cancellation are events beyond your control such as snowstorms, car accidents, funerals, hospitalization, or an illness that would keep you out of work. Please communicate if you need to cancel due to an emergency. It is not considered an emergency if you cancel because you decided not to continue counseling or if “forget” a scheduled appointment or if you scheduled an appointment which conflicts with another one you made or if you choose to do something else to you rather than come to counseling. Inclement Weather: If the roads are dangerous and the city has issued a traffic advisory, we will not meet, and you will not be billed for the session. For those who do not use insurance and for those whose insurance covers video conferencing, we can do a video session instead of meet in person, if you would like. We will discuss this when the situation arises. Repeat cancellations: If you cancel two consecutive appointments before rescheduling, or have a history of cancelling multiple times, we will need to discuss your treatment goals and whether you are able to commit yourself to counseling at this time. No-Show: If you do not show up for your appointment and do not contact me within 1 week to confirm your next appointment, I will assume you want to end services and will close your case. I will make effort to inform you by letter or text message. In case of a life-threatening emergency call 911 or go to the hospital. I do not provide 24-hour or on call coverage. In case of a mental health crisis, please use these resources: call your natural supports, please leave me a message stating the crisis on my voice mail (available 24 hours a day) call the Idaho Crisis and Suicide Hotline at 988, or call the South East Idaho Behavioral Crisis Center at 208-909-5177. If these options do not suffice, you cannot wait for a call back from me, and/or your crisis becomes life threatening, go to your local emergency hospital or call 911.
